        Thermalling in the Ecrins
A classic view of the mountains in June -
45 degrees of bank looks about right...
The soaring day in June usually starts
between midday and 2pm, frequently extending beyond the club's normal
requested last landing time of 8:30pm, giving long soaring opportunities
that often stretch over several consecutive days. Temperatures regularly
climb to the mid-30s Celsius and some days may be technically demanding,
so pilots must keep themselves aware of the dangers of fatigue. A
self-imposed day off every few days is no bad idea.
