We had five non-flying days, which was
unusually poor for a 3-week spell at this time of year. However, we all
managed to find plenty of things to do. The local mountains offer
      spectacular, if occasionally arduous, hill-walking
opportunities. Alternatively, some chose to drive to one of many charming
restaurants in isolated villages that lie deep in the heart of the Ecrins
and the Queyras. Others decided to ease their outlanding concerns by
driving to some of the more difficult 'landable' fields by car. |

could also add to the list: horseriding, quadbiking, mountain biking,
      wine-tasting, shopping, paragliding, sky-diving, swimming, via-ferrata,
rock-climbing, white-water rafting, kayaking, sailing, canyoning, fishing,
petanque, tennis, or simply just relaxing - in fact, the only activity I
haven't seen here is bungee-jumping (but I'm sure it's only a matter of
      time...). |
