More high-level action from this Spring. This beautiful set of lennies hung over the pic de Bure and were fairly easy to get to from Sisteron (for a change...). Thing is, the photo was taken at FL185 so, with a legal ceiling of FL195, there was no way I could climb to the top. In fact, since my climb rate was 10 knots at that point, I felt it was a really good time to leave the system before I bust airspace.

This way of thinking didn't occur to two German pilots (not from Sisteron) whose gliders were spotted (by, I am told, a passing airline pilot) at FL230 over this very spot: the gliders were identified, their pilots received a special visit from the authorities and were quite possibly never seen again. 

Just sayin'...
