Naturally, this sort of unnatural meteorological behaviour
can drive even the most well-balanced pilot to distraction, so it is little
surprise that Ariane chose to spend the afternoon on the top of Chabre with
our house-guest Evan, a skilled paraglider pilot from New Zealand who just
happened to have brought along his own tandem rig. After an hour of
"shall we, shan't we?" they didn't launch either, proving that the
weather god has, if nothing else, a well-developed sense of humour.
