Another good day! Today, for the first time in our Duo, I was
to be P1 with John patiently sitting in the back....After spending about one
hour on the ground trying to understand the new instruments we decided to
take off just after the competition grid (again they managed to launch 20
gliders in less than 45 minutes).

Showers over Blayeul
|
I was very nervous for the first half hour and was very
grateful for the help John gave me to get away from the tow. Once we managed
to get to cloudbase we made the decision to go south to the lac Ste
Croix. We then went west towards the Durance valley before heading north
again. Today, unfortunately, we could not make our way to the parcours as it
stayed in low cloud, so decided instead to go to Grande Ceuse and explore
the west side of the valley.

We flew over Serres and Aspres before heading back to Chabre
and then south again to Montagne de Lure. A very good time despite avoiding
the localised showers. At the end of the day after a successful 5 hours
flying we landed safely. That evening we all met back at the new club house
for a few drinks.
