Another small group is expected this year, undoubtedly due to a combination of the credit-crunch, an unfavourable exchange rate and that old French favourite, bureaucracy fatigue. We are nevertheless looking forward to yet another opportunity to revisit an area that offers the best quality flying per pound sterling (and surely the weather will be better than it has been over the past couple of years...).

So, here we are, just out of Vaumeilh airfield on tow towards l'Hongrie and the standing thermal that climbs up its southern corner. Will it be a frustrating flight, in hot and stable air, just waiting for the trigger temperature to be reached? Or is this the day we race towards the Matterhorn? 

From here, anything is possible...
