After
the Storms |
Gache
|
Having flown
for seven consecutive days we took time off on June 12th, after which the
weather declined, bringing storms and generally poor conditions for the
following two days. Today was the first since then to bring clear blue
skies in the morning - so time to fly again. Thanks to the
damp ground following the rain, cloudbase remained low over the Ecrins and the
parcours, so most of us decided to fly south over flatter country in the hope that conditions in the north might improve later in the day. |

I flew to the lac Ste Croix and then headed east
around the plateau de Canjeurs towards Fayence until spreadout drove me back to the west again. I had
a bit of a crisis trying to get away from 3300ft between Vinon (900ft) and Puismosson (2500ft) - I
began to look at outlanding fields with renewed interest. Having escaped, I then flew north to Montagne de Coupe and Cheval Blanc where, once again, spreadout pushed me back to the Sisteron valley.
All in all, a frustrating day but we all have better hopes for tomorrow.
